BABAE: Meditations on the Divine brings together two artists, two generations, and two distinct perspectives.
Mixed-media artist Reva Diana looks outward, drawing from conversations with ten Filipinas about life, divinity, and being Filipina in Canada.
Her daughter, photographer Ava Diana, turns inward to create an intimate reflection of her own experience.
Together, their work explores identity, inheritance, womanhood, and the ways we encounter the divine within ourselves and one another.
Join us for the art reception at 5:30 PM in the Level 2 Hallway Gallery at cSPACE Marda Loop. View the full body of work, meet Reva and Ava, and hear more about the ideas, stories, and personal experiences behind the exhibition. Everyone is welcome.
A supporting workshop led by Dr. May Farrales will take place October 10, from 2–5 PM, in the RGO Treehouse.
This project is made possible with the support of Calgary Arts Development
